On May 20th, Meta will be laying off 8000 workers, approximately 10% of its staff, with more waves to come in the second half of the year. Meta will also not hire for 6000 open roles it had previously intended to fill. With $200 billion in revenue and $160 billion in profit in 2025, Meta is reallocating payroll toward $115-$135 billion investment in AI infrastructure in 2026, and reorganizing teams into AI-focused pods.
If you're currently laid off or anxious about future layoffs, you don't have to face it alone.
We are bringing people together on a Zoom call to help answer questions about your severance and termination agreement, and provide a space for people to stay connected by joining support circles with one another for the months ahead.
AI is reshaping our economy, and workers deserve to share in the prosperity, not just bear the costs.
What We Will is building the people power and political will to win policy changes, and ensure workers have a voice in shaping the future of work.
WHAT WE WILL
We are stronger together.
